She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) who has managed large-scale, complex and challenging projects in a variety of organizational settings. She recently managed an Integration Management Office (PMO) that was responsible for the complicated post-merger integration of two large nonprofit entities. The integration portfolio included 80 discrete projects and over a 20 cross-functional team and was challenged by complicated cultural issues that required active and effective change management.
Melissa brought a practical and professional focus to the work. She established the PMO in order to be able to address the immediate needs of the organization to keep work flowing and to focus on the organizational and cultural changes that were necessary for a productive and effective future state. After the successful integration, the PMO focused on refining the organizational strategy of the new entity and implementing strategic initiatives. Melissa developed a high functioning team of project managers and worked closely with projects to determine how to best leverage people and processes to define success and create change.
